I draw sand art Mandalas and spiral Labyrinth walks to create extraordinary, interactive beach experiences. Surrounded by the mythic wonder of the Oregon Coast, these immersive, sweeping sand art designs frame your gathering space for a unique remembrance.
The sand art Meditation walks are a way to practice ‘Nature Bathing’, an evidence-based practice that offers a contemplative, transformative experience .
The ephemeral quality of sand art, swept away with the rising tide, reflects a spirit of interconnection with our coastal environment and makes for an ecologically responsible event.
Since 1986, I have sustained a steady and earnest Meditation & Yoga practice, adding Tai Chi to the mix in 2010.
My personal Meditation practice is inspired by a connection to Nature, the seasonal, tidal, and celestial cycles, the ways of our animal and plant friends. I believe in awe, play and compassion.
My life journey has been migratory and exploratory from time in my youth living as a renunciate in a cave in southern Spain and busking for my daily bread, to homesteading as a solo parent in rural woodlands of Appalachia living the rhythms of ‘carry water, chop wood’.
Professionally, it has been my honor to guide over 10,000 client sessions. I am a credentialed Yoga Therapist, a board-certified Health Coach, and an experienced instructor of Tai Chi for Better Balance. I provide evidence-based, client-focused, trauma-sensitive, multi-dimensional care.
My foundations are in the Integral Yoga tradition as a certified Hatha and Raja Yoga teacher, and I lived seasonally at the Yogaville Ashram while staffing immersive teacher training retreats (2002-2008).
My clinical specialty is in the field of Stress Resiliency, Lifestyle Medicine and Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation, trained and mentored by the Preventative Medicine Research Institute (2001-2012). My professional values have been inspired by the amazing multidisciplinary healthcare teams I have served with in both WV and OR.
